Innovative Leadership: Practice-Based Production: Creation by Activation
Booking link will follow soon.
Whether it is embracing bespoke relationships, creating an agenda for an artform that saves the world, challenging the status quo or activating your community, we need to start talking about how our practice relates to production, how our values, motivations and experiences form the basis for the best conditions for our work to flourish. Production is an extension of your practice and your practice is the spine of production.
Learning to work this way allows you to collaborate with a producer and arms you both with the power of conviction, clarifies expectations and enables your work to better connect with the world.
Lina B. Frank is a producer, programmer/curator and arts consultant from Sweden with offices in Stockholm and Bristol. She works mostly with Contemporary Circus and Live Art – with bold and brave people, explorers and visionaries at heart. She is interested in how art can be used to facilitate democratic participation and works towards artist and cultural development as well as artist-led spaces and organisations. Lina currently coordinates the Baltic-Nordic Circus Network and contributes to Trans Europe Halles partnership strategy.
About The Innovative Leadership Network (ILN)
“Artists as leaders of change”
ILN is a Nordic cross-disciplinary platform working towards enabling artists to become leaders, developing innovative methods for artistic research activities, as well as developing new ideas in relation to rethinking institutions, increasing audience engagement, investigating new presentation formats, tackling political & societal issues or working on sustainable practices… in order to challenge status quo.
The platform proposes fruitful exchanges between Nordic & European artists, researchers and creative workers from the performing arts field through networking events, lectures & thematic workshops, and open seminars that will take place in Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway from April 2018 to October 2020. Regular online publications will feed the reflection and build cross-sectoral knowledge.
INL is one strand of an ambitious Artist’s Research Lab and Residency Programme developed by Dansehallerne and its partners.
