Dansehallerne is a national hub for artists working with choreography aimed at a wide and multi-faceted audience. We work actively to improve our capacity to support professionals with collegial milieus, artistic development, facilitating production and research to meet the expectations from our audience for artistic experiences and adventures.

To succeed with our ambitions, we aim towards moving into new premises in Kedelhuset (a former heating plant for the Carlsberg breweries) in central Copenhagen. From then on we will be able to welcome artists, audiences and the public to premises specifically designed for innovative work and new, interactive performances and formats.

In season 2017/18 and 2018/19 Dansehallerne interact with all of Copenhagen. We move around in the city as we present activities in close collaboration with a large number of new partners and distinctive art institution: performances, seminars, installations and other events. Dansehallerne will continue to offer fantastic opportunities to experience contemporary choreographic performative arts and provide challenging, exciting and welcoming meeting-places.

Dansehallerne will also still present a lot of opportunities to experience and participate in choreographic performing arts all around in Denmark – among other places in Kalundborg, Haderslev, Horsens, Skanderborg, Ishøj, Aarhus, Fåborg, Odsherred and Helsingør.

As the national platform for contemporary choreography, Dansehallerne will strive for a leading role within the field at a European level.
