Cutting-edge performances, talks & more
September – October 2020
What does ‘dancing to music’ really mean? And how do you create music for dance? In the duet Panflutes and Paperwork, choreographer Ingrid Berger Myhre and composer Lasse Passage explore the relationships between dance and music. The title of their duet alludes to the contrast between the exiting and the dry; on the one hand we have the pan flutes, playful and passionate; on the other hand, the idea of paperwork refers to notation and implies bureaucracy. The tensions inherent between these states challenge the well-worn conventions of the familiar choreographer-composer constellation.
The performers work according to scores that prioritise structure over skill, method over indulgence. With wry, subtle humour, they embark on testing each other’s talents, introducing a special twist on dance and music in a quirky production poised between the realms of performance and concert.
In 2020, the duo Ingrid Berger Myhre and Lasse Passage have been selected as Aerowaves artists thanks to Panflutes and Paperwork. Every year, the prestigious international network Aerowaves appoints the twenty most talented and promising choreographers in Europe.
The performance includes spoken word elements in English.

Ingrid Berger Myhre is a Norwegian choreographer and dancer based in Brussels. She holds an MA in Choreography, Research and Performance from the Choreographic Centre in Montpellier and is an associated choreographer at Dansateliers in Rotterdam; she recently completed the Research Studios 2017–18 programme at the art school P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. Language and semiotics are central elements in Ingrid’s artistic work. Her keen eye for composition and casual play with expectations come together in unpretentious and humorous performances, several of which have been selected for special praise by the Aerowaves network.
Norwegian composer, songwriter and recording artist Lasse Passage began studying composition at the Griegakademiet in Bergen and holds a BA in Sonology from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. His compositional work is infused by electroacoustics and rhythmic music, and his versatile approach to music has made him a regular contributor to the independent dance and theatre scenes.
