Fanclub (DK/SE/NO) / Kunsthal Charlottenborg
Choreography in action
What vocabulary belongs to the dancer and how can she as a figure make us think, move, act..? During a two year long, disseminated process called We Are Dancers, Fanclub has collected a wide range of materials related to the figure of the dancer – applying these in artistic and non-artistic situations with the desire to explore other grounds and potentialities.
At Charlottenborg Fanclub will perform a self-interview based on the materials and methods from this process, where the dancer, the collective and structures of work and everyday life will be central.
This work and material is also the basis for the current performance by the dancer´s collective Fanclub WE ARE DANCERS – A CONCERT
The event will be in English. Free entrance.
Andrea Deres, Carolina Bäckman, Ellesiv V. Selseng and Sofia Karlsson – a dancers’ collective based in Copenhagen. The artists founded Fanclub back in 2010 together with their former member Klara Elenius, with a common desire to challenge themselves as well as the current structures within the Danish dance scene. With an aim to take ownership of their artistic activities and to challenge the position of the dancer, they started initiating and self-produce projects by inviting artists they found interesting into different collaborations.
