Dansehallerne considers that dance as an art form and artistic activity should be an integrated part of children’s and young people’s everyday lives. Therefore dance activities should also be accessible in the educational system.

The underlying credo is that quality dance activities for children and young people produce cultural and artistic experiences that are conducive to “dannelse”, competence development and learning.

For this purpose, Dansehallerne develops, produces and distributes dance activities nationally within the educational system. We focus mainly on the elementary school – and on partnership with different institutional, municipal, regional and national bodies.
It is crucial for all Community activities from Dansehallerne that dance facilitators invite the participants into creative dance processes with co-creation as a pivot point.

A National Competence Centre
Dansehallerne is a non-profit National Competence Centre for Dance for young people, working for qualified activities in dance. The key areas in this effort are to:

  • develop and produce different dance programmes
  • present and distribute dance activities and materials
  • support professional competences in the field of dance teaching and dance facilitation
  • serve as a general consultancy for institutional, municipal, regional and national bodies
