ScreenMoves is Dansehallerne’s international platform for dance on screen, featuring dance films, video installations, video art and performances using new media. Our activities include dance film screenings, panel debates, labs, workshops and lectures, as well as collaborations with other international and national arts organisations and individuals.

What we do
One of our main activities is the online international dance film competition 60secondsdance.
The competition started out as a collaboration between Dansens Dag and ScreenMoves in Dansehallerne.
In November 2014 ScreenMoves took over the competition and expanded to a Nordic collaboration with Loikka Dance Film Festival (FI) and ScreenDance Festival (SE) with support from Nordic Culture Fund.

What we believe in
Screendance’s hybrid form of dance and video production, using video or filmic media, allows us to experience dance and film/video in new ways. It expands and challenges our notion of what the different art forms are, and what they can be.

History
ScreenMoves was launched in Dansehallerne 18 March 2010.
Since then, we have presented international and Scandinavian screendance works at Dansehallerne, in Store Scene, Lille Scene, Foyer Scene and online.

We have set up workshops, labs, lectures and installations, as well as established collaborations around screendance activities with partners in Denmark and the Nordic countries.

ScreenMoves is run by dance filmmaker Maia Elisabeth Sørensen.
